What we collect
Your email address, which is how you sign in. For each API request we store the search query, the endpoint, HTTP status, latency, credits charged, and the country the request came from. We also record the IP address and browser user agent of sign-in attempts, to rate-limit abuse and to show you your own sessions.
Your search queries
Queries are stored so you can see them in your activity log, reconcile a bill, and debug a failing integration. They are visible only to you and to us, are never sold or shared, and are deleted with the rest of the request row after 90 days. Your activity log has an “anonymize” option that masks them on screen before you share it. If you send personal data in a query, it lands in that log — so do not, where you can avoid it.
What we do not collect
We do not store the results returned for a query. We do not store card details — payments go directly to Stripe. We do not use advertising or third-party analytics trackers, so there is nothing following you around the web.
Why we hold it
Email addresses identify accounts. Request logs, including queries, let you see what you spent credits on, let us bill accurately, and let us find faults. Sign-in metadata protects accounts from being taken over or spammed.
How long we keep it
Individual request rows, queries included, are deleted after 90 days. Daily usage totals are kept for as long as your account exists, so your history and invoices stay accurate; those totals are counts and timings only, and contain no query text. Delete your account and we remove your email, keys, sessions, and logs.
Who we share it with
Stripe processes payments, Neon hosts the database, Vercel serves the website, and Resend delivers sign-in emails. Each receives only what it needs to do that job. We do not sell personal data.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by emailing support@searchapi.dev. We will respond within 30 days. If you are in the UK or EU you can also complain to your data protection authority.
Cookies
One cookie, named sid, holds your login session. It is httpOnly, so page scripts cannot read it, and it exists only to keep you signed in. There are no advertising or analytics cookies, which is why there is no cookie banner.
Changes and contact
